As the title says.
Now that we've gotten our move from Illinois to Texas out of the way, the home office is set up and functioning, and the painting studio is back to at least a stage where I can work. I need some work!
Offering an end of 2012 special - all "non-Bartertown" affiliated commissions will receive a 25% discount on services (minimum $100.00 in services). B-towners - I can offer you the same deal, but not if you're planning on using any trade items as partial payments.
This applies to projects painted at Table Top level, or Beyond Table Top level only, and each project is limited to only one "Freakin Cool" model per project.

Captain for the "Siah Marines"
Hey folks got another post.
Will all the attention I've been giving my Orks, my son lovingly reminded me I had promised to paint his Space Marine captain over a year ago and it's been sitting in his box with his other marines primed and based coated in Army Painter Green.
And of course when I say "lovingly" I mean...Well you know.
So I took a break and did a BTT (Beyond Table Top) paint up of the Captain of the 4th company of the Siah Marines (my son's name is Josiah - hence Siah Marines).
I give you Brother Captain Jack Russel (he loves Wishbone)

Paint job was kept simple enough that when he does his dry-brushing technique for the rest of the army it will match for the most part. I decided not to highlight the black and just let it contrast the rest of the highlighted parts of the model.

Defkopta to Warbike conversion part II
Second warbike conversion. This one is just a straight warbiker boy not a nob. Chopper style for this guy. Little too big for my base, LOL. So he's poppin' a wheelie.
Thanks for looking!

Frozn' Tundra Orks Update
Some more updates on the Orks.
Skin done on the WB and the Biker Nob.
Here's the formula I worked with.
Base Coat - 2:1 Hawk Tourquise and Orkhide Shade
- Add Hawk Tourquise to mix
- Add Ice Blue to the mix
- Add Skull White to the mix
- Add more Skull White to the mix
- Separate a small portion of mix (couple of tank brush loads) then add equal amount of Skull
White for final highlight.
- Thrakka Green wash to blend everything in and add a bit more green tint to the skin
"Uniform" is done as well. I kept this pretty simple so I can reproduce on the 100+ models I have to paint up.
Base Coat - Codex Gray
- Shadow Gray shapes
- Space Wolves Gray shapes
- Black Ink/Flesh Wash (4:1) + 3 parts water wash (I use the same mixture on boltgun metal)
WIP Shots
More later,

Ork Warboss - Ice Despot Klawgrot - Ov Da Frozn' Tundra Orks
Oi! All yuz humies com chek diz out!
Began work on the Warboss for my Frozn' Tundra Ork Clan (yeah don't like to stay completely by the book as ya'll know).
Skin tone will be more ice blue/green, and maybe a snow/urban camo scheme for the pants. Not sure on that yet.
Everything will be based on Dragon Forge Urban Rubble bases (Great work as always Jeff!) with my snow recipe added to create the cold effect.
Base for the WB is done for the most part. I've got to add a frozen muck coming out of the pipe and then the snow, but that's after I get the WB finished and on it.
Here's some WIP shots. More to come as I add them. I'll also give the colors used on the skin tone once I finalize them. I based him with a 2:1 mixture of Hawk Turquoise and Foundation Orkhide Shade. Gives a really nice deep sea green color to build the "blue" up from. Obviously I'm going to pull the WB from the cork base and pin to the perty base.

Defkopta to Ork Nob Warbiker Conversion
Alright, so the conversion work on the 1st of the Defkopta to Warbike conversions is about as done as I'm going to try. Pinned and mounted on a DragonForge biker base (love this company).
Waiting on some wheels to finish the other 4 though I'm not sure if I'm going to run them as a full Nob unit or not (probably will since I can take it as a troop choice with the Warboss I'm running) ;-)
Pics aren't the best, still trying to get my new painting area up and running and can't find my dang camera so had to use my phone.
Enjoy!

BJ gots choppa 'appy
I know, I know, it's been a LONG time since I posted anything. Between work, and some not so pleasant health issues I've been kind of down for the count as far as the hobby goes. Sooooo after relocating to San Antonio from Illinois I decided to start giving some time over to my very, very, very neglected Orks (Froz'n Wagh Klan).
So I have pretty much all the models I want for the army and it keeps it pretty much just under 1500 points depending on what wargear I use for the Warboss. I've got 4 Warbosses (3 are AOBR, and then the FineCast Warboss with the Attack Squig) so depending if I decide to do any conversion work on the AOBR ones I shouldn't go over 1500 points.
Through various resources I came into posession of 3 full AOBR sets. I know static poses, but not the way I build them, hehe (more on those conversions later). That and I ended up with 12 AOBR Defkoptas. Well I only plan on fielding 5 of them, so what to do, what to do...
Time ta get choppin!
Okay forgive the lack of WIP shots on HOW I did this, but here is the first Defkopta to Warbiker Nob conversion.
Bits used:

BJs Heli Madness - Fini
It is finished! My creation, it's alive!
Haha, so finished up the S032 - The Red Dragon lives!
Haha, so finished up the S032 - The Red Dragon lives!
Video coming soon!
BJ's Heli Madness continues
Okay so I'm almost finished with the repaint on the Syma S032, but I decided to put it all back together to see how the pieces will look and flow. I still need to add some orange highlights to the scales with maybe some yellow on a few on the forehead (canopy) just for some decoration. Mouth still needs some clean up around the teeth and I may add some "gums" just not sure yet.
LED looks cool coming out of the mouth (fire breathing dragon...LOL).
Haven't flown it yet as I still needs to take off the pieces and seal them. I'm thinking two layers of gloss to give it a nice hard finish then matte to dull the shine a bit.
